Details of 23 Competitions in Yuvotsav 2023

PROCESS OF PARTICIPATING IN VARIOUS COMPETITIONS DURING YUVOTSAV-2023

A. GENERAL

1. Date of Main Event is 12th January 2023 (Thursday).

2. Prelims & off-stage events will be held on 11th January, 2023 onwards. Please keep track of updated event schedule.

3. Venue will be finalized shortly. Exact location will be intimated separately.

4. 23 events/Competitions will be held during Yuvotsav-2023.

5. In total there are 72 Chapters and 4 Regional Offices, so maximum number of teams for any event may be 76 teams.

6. The students who do not fall under the jurisdiction of any Chapter may participate as students of concerned Regional Office.

7. For participating in various events / competitions, every Chapter/Regional Office will get 1 point and for securing 1st/2nd/3rd position the winning Chapter/Regional Office will get 5/4/3 points respectively other than participation points. Accordingly there will be a huge All India Score Card. The complete tabulation will lead to various awards.

8. Fit Student -Fit ICSI : BMI (Body Mass Index) of all nominated students shall be measured and students having BMI in normal range shall be awarded 2 bonus points extra in the overall score sheet.

9. Awards like Winner Region (First Best) and Winner Chapters (First Five) will emerge as a winner for trophies. Individual winners and contestants of all competitions will also get trophies and certificates of winning/participation.

10. All attendees will also get certificate of participation.

11. Participating in various competitions will be allowed only through the concerned Chapter/Regional Office. Chapter/Regional Office may internally conduct the competitions for their students and send nominations for the competitions in the prescribed Nomination Form (Annexure A).

12. The nominated contestants are required to reach the venue (to be intimated shortly) on 11th January, 2023 by 9.A.M. In view of that, concerned Regional Office/Chapter should book their train/Bus ticket, so as their team reaches to Delhi/NCR at place where their stay arrangements are made (exact address of accommodation shall be informed separately) latest by the night of 10th Januray,2023.

13. Arrangements for stay and food of such nominated contestants will be done by the ICSI-HQ. The stay arrangements will be made from 10th January, 2023 till 12th January, 2023 8 A.M.

14. The cost of travel being second sleeper class (non AC) by train or equivalent for all such nominated contestants will be reimbursed by the Institute’s HQ. RCs/Chapters are advised to book the tickets of all students nominated by their respective RC/Chapters together as their team will be travelling together and may claim the refurbishment from HQ after the event by submitting original tickets. Following clarifications are to be noted in this regard :- (a) These facilities are only for the nominated contestants and not for all attendees. (b) Two events being Walk for a Cause and Number Game will not be considered for these facilities as no nominations are being collected in this regard.

15. For attendees who are not nominated contestants, the entire event is non – residential and they have to make their own arrangements.

16. Contestants / Delegates / Chapters / Regional Offices may plan their travel plans at the earliest and intimate ICSI-HQ at the earliest for making necessary arrangements.

17. Every contestant must be a registered delegate. The online link of delegate registration is available at the tab/icon of the event at the website of ICSI home page. 

 

18. Delegate Fees is as under : Delegate Fee- Early Bird Incentive (From 12.11.22 to 31.12.22) Delegate Fee- (From 01.01.23 to 10.01.23) Student of ICSI 500/- per delegate 600/- per delegate Others 600/- per delegate 700/- per delegate GST is payable extra as applicable.

19. Some events/competitions may be held simultaneously. Contestants will have to keep track and participate accordingly.

20. All Regional Councils and Chapter Managing Committees should come forward to nominate as many students as possible for making a larger representation of their Teams at Yuvotsav.

21. If any Regional Council Member from RC, Managing Committee Member from Chapter, ICSI official from respective RO/Chapter Office are also coming along with their team, in such case, it is clarified that their travelling/lodging expenses are to be borne by the respective Regional Council/Chapter as per the Institute’s rule. In any case, maximum two persons (out of above categories) are allowed to come along with their respective team. Please inform their travel schedule in advance to HQ.

B. EVENT SPECIFIC PROCESS (to be read with Part A : General Rules)

1. BUSINESS IDEA : 2 MINUTE MEIN

(a) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(b) Contestants have to speak about a business idea which takes care of all 3 aspects – planet, people and profit in order to create a sustainable business.

(c) Contestant can show videos/ snap shots/ images by way of PowerPoint or otherwise during pitching session along with their speech. No additional time will be provided for this.

(d) Carrying of reading paper will be not be allowed.

(e) Language of Presentation : English

(f) Enough research is required to present a good idea matching all the three aspects. Substitutes of existing products including plastic or changes in the existing business models (how things are done) are indicative examples. Innovative products, services, ideas will be required.

(g) Time for each contestant – 2 mins. (Reminder at 1.5 mins.) – refer Elevator Pitching Sessions.

(h) Negative marking for exceeding time limit.

(i) Order of speaking will be chosen by way of draw of lots.

(j) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(k) Other rules will be informed on spot.

(l) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(m) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

2. ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

(a) Participants have to write on the assigned topic. Topic will be given on-the-spot.

(b) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(c) Language – English.

(d) Students will write the essays on the given topic. Maximum time will be half an hour.

(e) Essay is to be written by contestant in his/her own handwriting. Max Limit : 700 words.

(f) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(g) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(h) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

3. TONGUE TWISTER (Zuban Sambhal Kar)

(a) Participants will be given a Tongue Twister on the spot.

(b) Number of attempts- only one

(c) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(d) Language – English/Hindi.

(e) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(f) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(g) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

4. POETRY COMPETITION

(a) Participants have to speak their own poetry. It should be contestant’s original work. Theme of poetry is “Patriotism”.

(b) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(c) Language – English. Hindi.

(d) Time- Maximum 5 minutes

(e) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(f) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(g) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

5. QUIZ : PRASHNAVALI

(a). Each Team can nominate only two contestants.

(b). Syllabus and marks:

(d). The Quiz Competition shall be in MCQ Pattern.

(g). Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

6. LEGAL PUZZLE : ULTA PULTA

(a) Each Team can nominate two contestants.

(b) Quiz will be conducted based on jumble phrases and their meanings, crossword etc

(c) The Competition shall be in MCQ Pattern.

(d) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize (all Team Prizes)

(e) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(f) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

7. BEST OUT OF WASTE : RANGOLI

(a) Each Team can nominate two contestants who will participate jointly.

(b) Contestants have to use their own art materials (anything as per their creativity – scrap, colours, colored papers, ribbon, decorative materials etc.) and chart paper of standard size and also their tools like scissors, glue, cello tape etc. They will also have to use waste materials like used plastic bottles or any other waste materials.

(c) Their art work can be of any form or description and it has to be done on a chart paper.

(d) The creativity will be on creating the best artwork using the waste materials along with other materials as indicated above.

(e) Copying from any source is prohibited. Original thoughts are encouraged.

(f) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(g) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(h) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

8. SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION

(a) Each Team can nominate two contestants . Topic will be given on-the-spot.

(b) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize (all Team Prizes)

(c) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(d) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

9. ARM WRESTLING

(a). Each Team can nominate two contestants. One male and one female.

(b). Locking of wrist not allowed.

(c). Arms should be kept straight.

(d). Left Hand should be completely free.

(e). Holding of anything for support not allowed.

(f). Award Categories : 1st Prize (Male and Female separately)

(g). Other rules will be informed on spot.

(h). Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(i). Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

10. HINDI SONGS (SOLO PERFORMANCE) : HAR DIL KI PUKAAR

(a) Each Team can nominate two contestants (One male & One female)

(b) Time to each singer – 5 minutes maximum

(c) Students are allowed to use background music trac.

(d) Negative marking for exceeding time limit

(e) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize (in each category)

(g) Musical instruments can also be used during singing.

(h)Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(i) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

11. Fashion show- Ethnic Indian

a.) Each Team can nominate two contestants. One male one female

b.) Award Categories: 1st Prize(Male/Female) Mr. Yuvotsav/ Ms. Yuvotsav

c.) Dress code will be Indian ethnic wear

d.) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

e.) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

12 KNOW YOUR STATE

 

(a) Participants have to appear before a panel. Oral questions (based on their respective states) will be asked by panel. Each correct answer will be awarded one marks. Winners shall be decided on the basis of marks secured by them.

(b) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(c) Language – English

(d) Award Categories: 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(e) Other rules will be informed on spot.

(f) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track. 1

 

3. CALLIGRAPHY WRITING COMPETITION

(a) Participants have to write on a paper on the topic. Matter will be given on-the-spot.

(b) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(c) Language – English.

(d) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(e) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(f) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

14. DEBATE : TOL MOL KE BOL

(a) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(b) Students need to speak either for the motion or Against the motion. Topic will be given on-the-spot.

(c) Languages allowed - Multilingual Debate : Hindi / English / combination thereof.

(d) Time to each speaker – 5 minutes maximum

(e) No personal attacks or use of prohibited language. Satire is allowed

(f) Negative marking for exceeding time limit.

(g) Award Categories : Best Speaker (For the motion) & Best Speaker (Against the motion)

(h) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(i) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

15. ELOCUTION : BOL BINDAAS

(a) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(b) Each contestant has to recite (without looking at the text) any part of the historic speech given by Swamiji at the Parliament of Religion, Chicago in the year 1893.

(c) Marks will be cut for breaks, mistakes of any kind /manner

(d) Prompting / reading will not be allowed.

(e) Candidates may dress in the attire of Swamiji. Consumes may be provided by ICSI-HQ.

(f) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(g) Rules may change. Please keep track.

16. MUSICAL CHAIR

(a) Maximum two students from each RC/Chapter shall be allowed. RCs/Chapters are to send their nomination accordingly.

17.STORY TELLING COMPETITION

(a) Each Team can nominate two contestants. Student can select a story as per his/her choice.

(b) Languages allowed - Hindi / English

(c) Time to each speaker –2 -5minutes

(d) Negative marking for exceeding time limit.

(e) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

(f) Rules will be updated from time to time. Please keep track.

(g) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

18. PHOTO COMPETITION WITH CAPTION

(a). Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(b). Contestants can take candid photographs from their mobile phone or camera.

(c). They will have to arrange their own mobile phone/ camera.

(d). The contestants will capture pictures related to Yuvotsav-2023

(e). Best Clicked Moments with appropriate title will get the prize.

(f). Editing / Collage of any description / manner is prohibited.

(g). Award Categories: 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

19.GROUP DANCE : PAYAL KI JHANKAR

(a) Each Team can nominate minimum two and maximum five contestants who will participate jointly.

(b) Props and costumes can be used

(c) Maximum time per team – 4 minutes.

(d) Award Categories: 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize (all Team Prizes)

20.BEST PARTICIPANT : UTTAM SARVOTTAM

(a) There will be no nominations for this event.

(b) Every individual who keeps on contesting (individually or jointly or as team) in various events keeps on getting points for participation as well as winning.

(c) All such points of such individual will be accumulated and the individual with highest points on personal score card will be awarded.

(d) Award Categories : Uttam Sarvottam (Male) & Uttam Sarvottam (Female)

(f) Decision of Judge(s) / Organising Committee shall be final and binding.

 

21. ACTING COMPETITION (DEKHO MERA ABHINAY)

(a) Each Team can nominate only one contestant.

(b) Contestants have to act on Topic, which will be allotted by draw of lot on the spot.

(c) Language – English/Hindi.

(d) Time allotted :2 minutes

(e) Award Categories : 1st Prize, 2nd Prize & 3rd Prize

22.POSTER MAKING COMPETITION (POSTER KALA PRADARSHAN)
